🌞 Alors, prête à relever le défi ?
Become a knitting tester!
At the moment, ONLY in French
What does a pattern testing phase consist of?
Before launching the sale of a knitting pattern and once the pattern has been calculated and written by me, we move on to the testing stage.
This means that a small team of knitters knits the pattern before its release in order to correct the last errors (because it's human ;) ), to check the clarity of the explanations and how the garment fits for each size.
How does it work?
A few weeks before the test launches, I sometimes post a recruitment announcement on Ravelry, Instagram, and my Facebook page, and I send an email to subscribers who have signed up for the test phase. I will share some photos of the finished project, information about the pattern, and the timeline associated with the test. If you like the project and it seems feasible within the given timeframe, all you have to do is apply and give me feedback!
The tests take place on the Slack platform. An invitation will be sent to you to join. It's a very practical website where you can send photos and attachments and chat with all the test participants. It's through this channel that you can download the pattern, ask questions as you progress, and I can also support you in your progress. It's also an opportunity to get to know each other and talk about knitting!
The pattern is of course provided free of charge and you can use the yarn of your choice ( provided of course that it follows the model, in terms of sample and yardage ).
You then have to knit the pattern and submit your report within the allotted time (the deadline is always specified when calling for testing).
Why become a knitting tester and what are the benefits?
- You want to meet other knitters and have great encounters
- You like to find little mistakes, typos and spelling errors
- You want to help me so that many other beautiful creations for the whole family can come to life!
What are the tester's commitments?
- By applying and agreeing to participate in a knitting test, you agree to:
- Knit and complete the project according to the shared schedule. Dates are communicated during the recruitment campaign. Deadlines vary between 3 and 8 weeks depending on the type of project
- Communicate via the dedicated testing channel to identify errors, typos, and other comprehension issues
- Respect the sample for the choice of thread
- Please let me know the quality selected and the yardage required for the knitted size.
- Send me a photo of the finished and worn work before the launch of the pattern for the preparation of the promotion
- Complete a project page on Ravelry and post photos of the model worn on social media (optional)
What are the benefits of the tester?
- Discover a pattern in preview
- Meet other knitters
- Receive a voucher for wool (wool brands sometimes offer a promo code as part of the test)
- Receive a promo code on my patterns valid in my store.
- A final revised and corrected version.
- At the launch, we will all be able to share photos of the finished work on our networks and your beautiful photos will be featured on the post promoting the model (with your permission of course!)
I'm signing up to become a tester!
