CAMELIA TOP is a women's tank top, very feminine and intricate with its pretty lace. It features a lace stitch, decreases for shaping, an opening at the waist for a drawstring, a button band at the chest level, and I-cord finishes at the neckline, armholes, and an I-cord at the waist.

  • Gauge: 22 sts x 34 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in stockinette stitch with 3.5 mm needles

  • My opinion: very quick project that flatters all body types

Points and techniques required:

  • Lace stitch and jersey (body), reverse jersey (bottom of body), double jersey (button band)
  • Cast off stitches (classic), cast on stitches (Long-tail cast-on), increases (yarn over), decreases (modified GGT, knit 2 together), stitch brought to the right (over 3 sts), horizontal braid, I-Cord cast-off, I-Cord.

Construction details(s)

The tutorial must be followed row by row with the description. All the beginning of the short rows can be followed either row by row, or by the complete diagram (A3 format available as an extra).

SEAMLESS (in the round from bottom to top then back and forth from the button band)

The Camélia Top is knitted in organic DK cotton yarn. We start by casting on stitches, then create a border and a lace stitch in the round. Decreases are made on the sides up to the armholes, before continuing with the pattern and stockinette stitch. An opening at the waist is provided for inserting a cord. Below the bust, the work is done back and forth with an opening for the button band. At the armholes, the half-fronts and back are knitted separately with decreases, then the shoulders are finalized. The top finishes with two double stockinette stitch button bands, an I-cord around the neckline and armholes, and an I-cord string at the waist.
