Construction details(s)

SEAMLESS(worked flat and top-down, seamlessly):

The Athen Sweater Sleeved vest is the little brother of the Athen Cardigan sleeveless. It is knitted using two strands held together: a FINGERING yarn and a LACE yarn. These yarns unite to create a delicate blend of merino, mohair, and silk. You will begin by casting on stitches, knitting the back in stockinette and lace stitch at the edges, worked flat with short rows to shape the shoulder slope. Then you will gradually increase to shape the armholes. Once the back is complete, it will be placed on hold. You will pick up stitches one by one for each shoulder to create the front, also in stockinette and lace stitch, while incorporating increases for the "V" neckline. You will continue the front to the armholes, and directly join the back to each front to continue working flat down to the bottom of the body, which will be in half-twisted 1x1 rib. You will pick up stitches around the armholes to shape the top of the sleeve in stockinette with a lace stitch on top and using short rows, then continue decreasing until the ribbing that will form the same finish as the bottom of the body. Finally, you will pick up stitches along the neckline of the vest and work a fancy half-twisted 1x1 rib band.
